MS Spitsbergen
NORDIC is supporting Hurtigruten Expeditions with the conversion of MS Spitsbergen during Dry Docking in 2025. According to the intended modifications, all necessary drawings will be updated and class approval will be handled. NORDIC is very happy to assist Hurtigruten Expeditions with upgrading this proud Exploration Vessel.
Grip Explorer
NORDIC supported the Owner to deliver the stability manual by preparing the final documentation for Class approval before the ship delivery; among the various steps to reach this target a procedure for the inclining test preparation and execution had to be prepared, with detailed instructions and reference loading conditions for the scope of the experiment.
In addition, Nordic actively participated on site in the inclining test, performing a thorough inspection of the ship status together with the Class representatives and coordinating with the Owner and the shipyard the various phases of the experiment, to guarantee a successful result of the test.
Later, based on the input data collected on site, Nordic executed the needed calculations to find the official lightship weight and VCG of the ship, used to complete the final documentation.

NORDIC collaborated closely with the Owner to finalize the stability manual, ensuring that the necessary documentation for Class approval was ready before the ship’s delivery. As part of this process, a comprehensive procedure for preparing and conducting the inclining test was developed, complete with detailed instructions and reference loading conditions tailored to the experiment’s objectives.
Furthermore, NORDIC took an active role on-site during the inclining test, conducting a meticulous inspection of the vessel’s condition in conjunction with Class representatives. The team also coordinated with the Owner and the shipyard throughout the various phases of the experiment to ensure its successful outcome.
